How much does a commissioned chart painting cost?
- Framed to 18x24" start at $350 plus shipping.
* This includes the 13x19" chart, completely matted and framed, ready to hang on the wall.
* There may be additional costs for added elements in addition to the boat such as lighthouses, buildings, people, etc.

How do I get started?
1. It's easy! First select the area or chart you would like as the background for your boat/yacht. We will send you a link to ensure it is the correct chart, then order the chart if it is not already in stock. We take care of the leg work!
2. Next, send photos of your boat via email to us. The higher the resolution the better, and make sure they are good clear shots. Every detail possible will be incorporated in your painting. Be sure to include close-ups if possible of important details like the boat name and lettering.
*Art On The Water can also come on location to shoot photos with prior arrangements.
(Travel fees may apply depending on distance from MI) ....We have been known to barter!
3. We will then send you a "mock-up" of the design/layout idea using your photo with the chart so you have and idea of what the finished product will look like before we start.
4. After approval of the layout, your painting will begin as soon as possible!
How long will it take to complete?
Please allow chart painting commissions to take 3-4 weeks depending on how many orders are in process at the time of your first contact with Art On The Water.
Time is needed in ordering and receiving the chart, paint time, framing time, and shipping time. There are also many orders in queue.
Note**** Full-size charts may take longer due to size.
*** If you need a painting in less time for a last minute gift idea (for procrastinating shoppers like us ), just contact us with the date you need it by, and we will do our best to accomodate! Rush charges may apply.
Paintings are shipped via UPS ground unless you prefer otherwise. Up-to-the-minute tracking information will be provided.
